The Cryopak® gel brick line offers a bridge between gel packs and ice bottles, taking the features of each and combining them in an economical, easy to use package. Gel packs are the traditional, low cost refrigerants that have been used for years. The gel ice bottles combine the convenience of a gel based refrigerant and a robust bottle – tough enough to be used for outdoor activities like camping and hiking. Gel bricks represent an economic solution to the natural convection that occurs in a cold chain container. When water-based gel packs thaw, the material flows (by force of gravity) and the subtle dynamics inside the container change. Gel bricks fill the gap between low cost gel packs and their higher priced relatives in the hard plastic bottle.
Gel bricks are designed to hold their shape during use. Frozen or refrigerated, the brick’s consistent geometry improves performance of your cold chain packaging by staying where you put them. As part of a complete packaging solution EFP can mold recesses or cavities inside the foam shipping container. The recessed gel brick is now captured for improved performance. Further, the gel brick surface is flush with the insulated payload area to make pack outs simple and consistent.
