Cold Chain Validation
EFP Corporation developed the PharmaTuff® line of molded EPS shippers to be a pre-qualified shipping system for high volume users. PharmaTuff® shippers are qualified, not validated, to generic ISTA temperature profiles using inert liquid payloads.
EFP can help you validate PharmaTuff® standard shippers for use with your product. Cold chain validation is typically associated with a “one drug – one box” shipping system. Our design, quality and manufacturing teams produce a molded EPS thermal shipper that stands up to ISTA (International Safe Transit Association) temperature testing. Most sizes have also been tested against ISTA standards for small parcel shipping and provide durable product protection without the need of an outer corrugated cover.
The cold chain validation process is a packaging design program performed by our cold chain partner TCP Reliable® and their independent testing company, DDL. Starting with your product requirements, TCP works with you to develop a min/max payload guideline. They build the package from the inside out. When possible, TCP designs use a standard PharmaTuff® molded EPS shipper. The process includes testing to a standard ISTA profile, or a customer specific profile that's provided in triplicate with a full design review and testing results. The process includes a test report for your files to help you further support your cold chain compliance program.
