Cold Chain Packaging - Pallet Container for Bulk or Case Stock Shipping Solutions  



When you are shipping bulk, different lots of temperature sensitive products may require different sets of cold chain packaging. We designed our pallet containers to ship bulk product loads in case stock or totes.
 

 

Cold chain pallet containers come in a variety of insulation materials:

  1. Expanded Polystyrene (EPS): The most economic insulation liner, EPS is available in various combinations of thickness and density. Usually constructed using large wire cut panels, EPS can be easily configured to accept standard sizes of Cryopak® refrigerants—typically gel ice bottles.
  2. Polyurethane (PUR): Molded or in cut sheets, PUR is better for long hauls for ground shipments or overseas shipments. Although PUR uses the same refrigerants as EPS, it has better insulating properties and is more durable.
  3. Polyisocynaurate (PIR): This material comes from the construction industry, which uses it as foam-in-place insulation. PIR insulated pallet shippers use standard refrigerants. A thermosetting type of plastic closed cell foam with excellent thermal properties, PIR is also excellent for long transit times.

Cold Chain Pallet Shippers come in a variety of standard sizes. Our flexible manufacturing process allows us to design and build customer specific sizes as well.

  • Recharge Refrigerants: Designed to allow spent gels to be easily replaced with pre-conditioned gels to extend transit/storage time.
  • Knockdown Construction: Delivered in components to reduce storage space and freight costs, yet easy to assemble.
  • Access Panels: Assembles with side and/or top panel openings for easy loading and unloading.
  • Data Acquisition: Options include data acquisition capability to log time and temperature, which includes options to alarm on excursions and provide downloadable data file.
  • Aluminized Exterior Panels: Provide strength and reflective protection.
  • Pre-Qualified Solutions: EFP Corporation and TCP Reliable can provide pallet containers that have been tested to ISTA transit profiles or we can test and document customer specific profiles.
